A source at Brentford has told Football Insider that the Bees have now joined the chase for Lowe by making an offer for the defender as they look to solve their left-back issues.

Brentford are in the market for reinforcements on the left-hand side of the defence after seeing Yoann Barbet leave Griffin Park for Championship rivals QPR this summer.

As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Preston North End have also tabled a bid for the full-back.

Lowe is back at Derby this summer after two spells out on loan at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen last season.

The 22-year-old impressed at the Scottish top flight side, making 42 appearances in all competitions for the Dons and his performances brought him to the attention of a number of clubs.
