Exclusive: Bruce Stunned by senior man's Tottenham admission - 'Very surprised'
Alex Bruce admits he was “very surprised” to hear Mauricio Pochettino admit he wants to return to Tottenham as manager in the future.
The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says he is not sure whether the Lilywhites chiefs would take him back after sacking him in November.
Speaking to BT Sport, Pochettino admitted he wants to return to Spurs one day and “finish the work we didn’t finish”.

Bruce admits he cannot see Pochettino moving back to north London after his 293-game spell in charge of the club.
Bruce told Football Insider: “I was very surprised, I have to say.

“Whether they’d have him back or not, I’m not sure but to sack a manager and then to go back and get him again in five or six years’ time – listen, it could happen. Me for one, I’d be surprised if it does.
“We’ll have to watch this space, see what happens, see where he is at his next club and how he does there.”
Speaking about his time at Spurs, Pochettino told BT Sport: “It was an amazing journey that finished the way no-one wanted it to finish. Deep in my heart I am sure our paths will cross again.
“From the day I left the club, my dream is to be back one day and to try to finish the work we didn’t finish. Maybe in five years, maybe in 10 years, but before I die I want to manage Tottenham.”
