Alex Bruce has suggested that a number of Leeds United players could join Huddersfield Town on loan this summer.

The former Whites defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, suggested that Robbie Gotts could be the first of many to make a temporary switch across West Yorkshire, following Carlos Corberan’s appointment as Town manager.

Journalist Alan Nixon has reported that the 20-year-old could link up with the Whites’ former under-23s boss on loan for next season.

Corberan was appointed by Huddersfield last Thursday after, as revealed by Football Insiderthey had agreed a compensation fee with Leeds.

Gotts made his senior debut in the Whites’ narrow FA Cup defeat to Arsenal this last season and has been a regular for the club’s under-23 side for some time.

Bruce believes Leeds will be able to keep a “close eye” on any loan stars who head over there.

“It’s just down the road, so Leeds will be able to keep a close eye on what is happening with him,” Bruce told Football Insider.

“It’s a good opportunity for Huddersfield to maybe get a couple of players from Leeds and with the managers link to the academy, It wouldn’t surprise me if we see one or two head over there.”

Gotts made his senior debut in the Whites’ narrow FA Cup defeat to Arsenal this last season and has been a regular for the club’s under-23 side for some time.

His progress even prompted Marcelo Bielsa to admit to the Yorkshire Evening Post in December he felt guilty that he was not using him more.

The Harrogate-born youngster was named on the bench 35 times before he made his first-team debut.
