Exclusive: Bruno Guimaraes reveals real reason Alexander Isak not on Newcastle pre-season tour
Bruno Guimaraes has shared the latest update on Alexander Isak’s situation at Newcastle United after he asked to leave the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Eddie Howe’s squad touched down in Singapore ahead of their pre-season tour, the 27-year-old explained that the club will deal with the situation, while he insisted the Sweden international has remained in Newcastle due to an injury.
Isak, 25, was left out of the travelling squad after making clear his desire to explore a move away amid strong interest from Liverpool and Saudi Pro League sides.
The official word coming out of Newcastle remains that he is struggling with a minor thigh injury sustained during their training camp in Austria.
However, reports say that the Sweden international was left at home at his own request as he has asked to leave Newcastle and is actively seeking a move.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 18 July that Newcastle believe Liverpool are trying to unsettle Isak after they made their interest public.

Bruno Guimaraes responds to Alexander Isak exit talk at Newcastle
Football Insider revealed on 18 July that Isak could push to leave Newcastle, which could force Liverpool to step up their interest in a permanent move this summer.
Speculation about his future has been rife since the start of the window, despite the Magpies insisting that they are not planning to entertain any talk of a sale.
Bruno, meanwhile, explained that while the players are aware of the talk around Isak’s future, it is a matter that will be dealt with by the club.
“From what we know, Isak is injured,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s not been in training for four or five days, so he stayed there to get himself better with better treatment, so he’s there with a small injury.
“Of course, he’s a top player and we know everything that’s going on around him.
“But what I do know is Isak is staying there to do some physical treatment.
“Isak is a top striker, his last three seasons speak for themselves, he’s a top player.
“But as far as I know, he’s just stayed there because of his injury to have treatment with the club.
“We know the situation behind him, but that’s not for me to speak about, I’m just a player, it’s something the club will take care of.
“We want to keep out best players, but what I will say is I don’t know what will happen, but he’s not here because he’s having treatment in Newcastle.”

Harvey Barnes update emerges after Magpies deal completed
Isak is not the only player who has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park, as speculation has also emerged surrounding the future of Harvey Barnes.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 July that Newcastle will listen to offers for Barnes following Anthony Elanga’s arrival.
The winger has struggled to establish himself as a regular first-XI player while competing with Anthony Gordon, who will remain the first-choice alongside Elanga.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in May that Barnes could be interested in leaving Newcastle in search of more regular first-team football alongside Joe Willock.
