Exclusive: Cameron Brannagan to sign new Oxford deal after West Brom interest

Cameron Brannagan is poised to snub West Brom interest and sign a new Oxford United deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The Championship newcomers have fended off interest from other clubs to secure the 28-year-old’s future at the club.

West Brom and Blackburn Rovers had been plotting moves for the central midfielder this summer as he entered the final year of his deal at the Kassam Stadium.

But Oxford have now moved to tie down Brannagan on a new three-year deal as he is a key man in Des Buckingham’s side.

The U’s are preparing for life back in the Championship next season and the former Liverpool academy star is set to play a key role.
