Exclusive: Crystal Palace register interest in Jobe Bellingham

Crystal Palace have registered an interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham ahead of January, sources have told Football Insider.

Bellingham could be set to leave Dortmund on loan in January after a tough start to life in the Bundesliga.

Sources say that Palace have made contact with the player’s camp regarding a potential deal being struck when the transfer window reopens.

The 20-year-old has started just two Bundesliga games for Niko Kovac’s side so far this season and there are now doubts about the England Under-21 international’s future at the club.

Crystal Palace eye Jobe Bellingham after Dortmund fall-out

There is potential that the former Sunderland man could complete a return to England when the window reopens, on a temporary basis.

If that is the case, then Crystal Palace will be in a good position to secure his signature, following their promising start in the Premier League.

The relationship between the midfielder and Borussia Dortmund is still tense, following a bust-up earlier in the season.

Bellingham’s father, Mark, confronted Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl when his son was subbed off at halftime of his debut against St Pauli in August.

The 49-year-old has now been banned from all dressing room areas as a result of the altercation.

Crystal Palace face fight for Bellingham

Crystal Palace will have to fight off competition from fellow Premier League clubs if they want to bring Bellingham in on loan during the January transfer window.

Football Insider revealed on 10 September that Manchester United are keen to sign a new midfielder and are assessing multiple options for the position.

Reports have now claimed Bellingham is on their list of targets amid question marks about his long-term future in Germany.

Bellingham has also been linked with a return to Sunderland, the club that he departed over the summer.
