Danny Mills claims that Everton could make a real challenge for the top-six in the Premier League if they can secure the capture of Juventus striker Moise Kean.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England full-back says that the 19-year-old Italian, who has three caps to his name, could prove to be an alternative to Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha for the Toffees, with the Merseyside outfit having looked at both this summer.

As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Everton have had a bid accepted for the Juventus hitman and are looking at as many as three new arrivals before the summer window closes.

Mills says that Kean would be a quality addition to their squad and boldly claimed he would give them the ability to challenge those at the top of the table, but that fans expecting two big-name forward signings might be disappointed.

Mills told Football Insider: “Moise Kean is young but he’s been doing it at a higher level, more frequently. If Everton could add him to their squad then yes, the would have a real good challenge on the top six.

“It may well be one or the other (between Kean and Zaha). This is what happens at this time of year,  they’re thinking we need one in, sometimes I think it’s best to pay that little bit extra and get that one in, job done and dusted.”

Marco Silva’s current centre forward options are Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the out-of-favour Cenk Tosun, although the Portuguese boss often used natural winger Richarlison in the number nine role last season.

In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed the terms of a £29million deal.
