Turkish duo Trabzonspor and Ankaragucu have made pre-contract offers to Reading defender Tyler Blackett, Football Insider understands.
The 25-year-old is free to talk to foreign clubs this month as his contract at Reading expires at the end of the season.
A source at Reading has told Football Insider that Turkish side Trabzonspor and Ankaragucu have now followed up their interest in Blackett by making official pre-contract offers to the former Manchester United defender to sign him in the summer.
It is believed Reading are looking to fend off the offers from Trabzonspor and Ankaragucu by opening talks with Blackett over a new deal at the Madejski Stadium.
The defender, who can play as a left-back and as a centre-back, is now weighing up his options as he considers his long-term future.
Blackett, who put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Royals in the summer of 2016, has played a bit-part role for Mark Bowen’s side this season, with just 11 appearances across all competitions.
The versatile defender, who can play as both a left-back and a centre-back, missed the start of the season as a result of an injury picked up over the summer, returning to action in September.
After featuring just once in 10 league games between October and December, Blackett has started and played the full 90 minutes at left-back in the Royals’ last six.
The 25-year-old started his career with Manchester United and was loaned to clubs such as Celtic as well as Birmingham City, before leaving the Red Devils permanently in 2016 to join Reading.
Blackett has played a total of 111 times for the Royals, registering eight assists in the process.
