Fulham are working on a last-gasp swoop to sign Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed on loan, Football Insider understands.
Cottagers boss Scott Parker is desperate to bolster his midfield options before the transfer window closes and has targeted a move for Reed.
A Fulham source has told Football Insider the club have been given indications they can secure the capture of the 24-year-old before the transfer cut-off this evening.
Reed is well down the pecking order at Southampton and Ralph Hasenhuttl is happy for him to go out on loan for the new season.
he spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, where he made a big impression in the Championship, after spending the previous campaign at Norwich City.
Reed, who is a versatile midfielder who can play centrally or on the right flank, has made 30 senior appearances for the Saints since graduating from their academy set-up.
He made a big impact for Rovers last season, scoring three times and supplying an impressive seven assists from 36 matches in all competitions.
