Exclusive: Gerrard tipped to axe Rangers player tonight after major reveal - pundit
Alan Hutton admits he is expecting Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to bring Alfredo Morelos straight back into the side for the clash against Hamilton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Gers and Scotland defender believes the manager will axe one of his players from Saturday’s defeat to Hearts for the striker.
Gerrard left the 23-year-old out of the club’s Scottish Cup loss after he returned late from a personal trip, the manager confirming he had been disciplined as a result.
🎙️ SG: Alfredo Morelos is available for selection, he has been disciplined internally and accepted this and we move forward. It is important we are not stubborn here and we move on after these situations are dealt with strongly which it has been.

However, with games coming thick and fast for the Light Blues, Hutton is expecting the boss to swing the axe on one of his players in order to get the Colombian into the starting XI.
Asked if Morelos would be straight back into the starting XI, Hutton told Football Insider: “I presume he will, they missed him in the Hearts game, there’s no doubt about it.
“He’s such a big player for Rangers. Obviously his form has dipped a bit since the winter break but he’s still got a tremendous tally of goals so he’s needed.

“I do believe he’ll go straight back in because they need that focal point up front, he gives the team a lot when he’s playing at his best.”
Morelos has netted 29 goals in 43 appearances for the Light Blues across all competitions, but he has now missed the club’s last two games.
He sat out the Europa League win over Braga due to suspension, Florian Kamberi taking his place, while Greg Stewart led the line against Hearts in his absence.
In other Rangers news, Hutton has torn into one Ibrox star who has gone from hero to zero this week.
