
Exclusive: Ian Maatsen begins Aston Villa medical after terms agreed – sources
Ian Maatsen will undergo an Aston Villa medical on Sunday after agreeing terms with the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The Holland star, 22, will begin medical tests overseen by Villa staff while representing his country in Germany at the European Championships.
The huge development comes as he puts the finishing touches to a move to Villa Park.
The two clubs have agreed a fee of £35million plus £5m of add-ons and are now exchanging contracts.
It comes during an intense period of transfer activity at Villa Park.
Midfielder Tim Iroegbunam signed for Everton on Saturday in a deal worth around £10million that that was announced on Saturday morning.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18th June the Merseyside giants had a bid accepted for the 20-year-old and then first broke the news on 20th June that Iroegbunam was headed to Everton to undergo a medical.
He was overlooked at left-back in favour of Nathan Ake as the Netherlands drew 0-0 with France on Friday night.
The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, reaching the Champions League final, and has seen his stock rapidly rise.

Football Insider revealed [16 June] that the two clubs were in daily discussion over Maatsen, who has only made 12 senior outings for Chelsea since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2019.
Via loans with Charlton Athletic, Coventry City and Burnley, the left-sided player has gained vital senior experience which stood him in great stead for a successful, albeit short stint at Dortmund.
