Exclusive: Joe Worrall undergoing Burnley medical after terms agreed
Joe Worrall is undergoing a Burnley medical after Nottingham Forest accepted a bid, sources have told Football Insider.
Burnley have agreed an undisclosed fee for Forest for the 27-year-old and hope to have a deal wrapped up in time for him to make his debut this weekend against Sunderland.
Worrall is well down the pecking order at Forest, having spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Besiktas.
Worrall was not in the match-day squad for Forest’s first Premier League game of the season as they drew 1-1 against Bournemouth.
The centre-back is under contract at the City Ground until 2026, but Forest are looking to cash in on him immediately.
Joe Worrall will search for more playing time at Burnley
Worrall struggled for game time at Forest before his recent loan move, having only made seven Premier League appearances last season.
The 27-year-old is now searching for more regular playing time, which Scott Parker is looking to provide as Burnley attempt to return to the Premier League.
Worrall boasts lots of experience in the Championship after playing 168 games in England’s second division, having helped Forest get promoted in 2022.

Worrall has been at Nottingham since 2016, and although he’s had three loan moves in that period he has played 226 games for the club.
