EXCLUSIVE by Pete O’Rourke
Leeds and Hull City are lining up moves for Oxford United star Marvin Johnson, Football Insider Sources understand.
Johnson is regarded as one of the best left-sided players in the Football League after impressing at Oxford last season.
The 26-year-old, who can play as a left-back or left winger has excelled at Oxford after joining the club last summer from Motherwell.
A number of Premier League and Championship clubs have been credited with an interest in Johnson, but Football Insider sources understand Leeds and Hull are now leading the race for the former Solihull Moors man.
Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen is looking to add to his attacking options before the close of the transfer window and he has identified skilful attacker Johnson as one of his top targets.

Hull are also in the market for reinforcements, especially on the left-side of their side, after selling Andy Robertson to Liverpool earlier this summer and they like Johnson’s versatility – that he can play at left-back as well as left-wing.
Oxford are reluctant to lose Johnson as they look to keep hold of their best players as they aim to challenge for promotion this season from League One.
Leeds and Hull are both ready to test Oxford’s resolve to hang onto Johnson with the U’s looking in the region of £2million for the player.
In other Leeds transfer news, the Whites have suffered a blow as 26-year-old agrees terms with a Premier League outfit.
