Exclusive: Leeds ready ‘surprise’ move for Max Aarons

Leeds United are readying a surprise move for Bournemouth defender Max Aarons, sources have told Football Insider.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke is a big fan of Aarons, having worked with the right-back during his time in charge of Norwich City.

The West Yorkshire giants have registered their interest in signing the 24-year-old on loan for the season.

Football Insider revealed that Leeds had been in the race to sign Chelsea’s Bashir Humphreys, but they were beaten to his signature by Burnley.

Leeds are now set to turn their attention to Aarons as Farke looks to enhance his defensive options for the new campaign.

The Championship club have conceded six goals in their opening three matches and are without a win so far this season.

Leeds United hope Max Aarons can sure up their defensive line

Farke is looking to reunite with Aarons before the 31st August cut-off in a bid to strengthen his team defensively.

The right-back offers extensive experience in the Premier League and Championship and is capable of being placed into the starting lineup immediately.

Aarons made 20 appearances for Bournemouth last season in the top flight, creating one assist.

Leeds are also attempting to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window shuts, and Sunderland’s Jack Clarke had been their top target.

However, they look set to miss out on him after Ipswich agreed a £15million deal with the Black Cats.
