Exclusive: Man City could land stunning £90m+ windfall
Manchester City could land more than £90million in prize money if they win the Club World Cup this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 10-time English champions are heading into the 32-team competition in the US on the back of a challenging campaign.
Man City looked set to miss out on Champions League qualification at various points in the season, but a late run of form secured a third-place finish in the Premier League table.
However, they missed out on all the major trophies after losing to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final last month.
The Club World Cup is now set to provide a well-timed financial boost ahead of an important summer for the Manchester giants.
Pep Guardiola’s side will face Moroccan club Wydad AC in their first game of the competition in Philadelphia on 18 June.
Their other two group games see them take on Al Ain of the UAE in Atlanta on 23 June before heading to Orlando for a heavyweight clash against Juventus on 26 June.

Man City could blow Chelsea out the water after documents revealed
As per official Fifa documents, the 32 teams competing in the Club World Cup will receive a participation fee.
The European teams will earn a minimum payment of £9.5million (based on current exchange rates from dollars to pounds), while Fifa’s top-ranked club – which is expected to be Man City or Real Madrid – will be handed £28.3million.
There will be £1.5million awarded for a win in the group stage, with a draw worth £750,000.
Qualification for the round of 16 victory will net clubs a further £5.6million.
A run to the final is worth an extra £25.3million in prize money, while the winner of the competition will land £29.6million.
Sources have told Football Insider Man City could bank just over £93million in total prize money if they win the Club World Cup after securing victories in all their games.
Meanwhile, fellow Premier League side Chelsea’s potential earnings will be lower due to their Fifa ranking.
