Exclusive: Man United reach agreement over blockbuster new deal
Man United have reached an agreement with Dean Henderson over a blockbuster new deal, Football Insider can reveal.
The Premier League giants have finalised negotiations to keep the goalkeeper, 23, and tie him down to a long-term contract.
A United source has told Football Insider that the breakthrough in talks will see Henderson sign a new deal worth £100,000-a-week.
The Premier League giants are set to announce later this week that Henderson has put pen to paper on the new terms.
It means a massive pay rise for a keeper who has attracted strong interest from Chelsea this summer.
This site broke the news last month that Chelsea had set their sights on a big-money summer move for Henderson as they look to recruit a new number one to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga.
But United made it clear to the Londoners they do not want to sell Henderson to a top-four rival and they are having to look elsewhere for a new shot-stopper.
The 20-times champions regard it as a major coup tying down a keeper who has had two outstanding seasons on loan at Sheffield United.
It remains to be seen if Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to loan Henderson out again next season.
Sheffield United signed Aaron Ramsdale from Bournemouth last week for £18.5million.
However, at Old Trafford David De Gea is the long-established United number one, with impressive Argentine Sergio Romero providing quality back-up.
In other Man United news, it can be REVEALED the club’s shock move for 28-year-old has collapsed.
