Alex McLeish claims that Carlo Ancelotti is like the “Pied Piper” when it comes to getting new signings through the door at Everton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Birmingham City and Scotland manager suggests that players will join the Toffees specifically to work with the Italian.
Everton have confirmed the signings of Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure from Napoli, Real Madrid and Watford over the past week.

The Brazilian and the Colombian stars have already played under Ancelotti during his time at Napoli and both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich respectively.
McLeish believes that players are drawn to working with such a high-profile name and that he will lure more big signings to Goodison Park.
McLeish told Football Insider: “Ancelotti is a manager that will attract players, as well as Everton – individual people like Ancelotti have a Pied Piper personality that people go: ‘I want to work under this guy.’
“He’s been at Real Madrid, he’s done all the big clubs but the Premier League is so attractive to managers abroad. It’s a big feature for managers to join the Premier League and be part of it again.
“Ancelotti knows that Everton are a big club – maybe not as big as some of the ones he’s been at but again it’s a huge lure and if he challenges himself to try and get Everton to a position where they haven’t been for a long time then that individual guy, that’s the kind of challenge Ancelotti relishes.”
Everton finished 12th in the Premier League last season after Ancelotti took charge back in December.
He did not make any new first-team signings during the January transfer window.
