Exclusive: Newcastle set to land extra £11m
Newcastle United are on course to land an £11million boost in Premier League prize money following their strong run of form, sources have told Football Insider.
Eddie Howe’s side have surged up the Premier League table in recent weeks as they currently sit in third spot.
They have claimed 19 victories from their 34 top-flight matches this season, with only recently-crowned champions Liverpool winning more games.
The north-east giants look certain to finish higher than last season’s seventh-place finish, which saw them miss out on a European spot following Manchester United’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester United.
They earned around £39.2million in Premier League prize money last season as each position is worth approximately £2.8million.
The Tyneside club have the chance to strengthen their grip on third spot when they head to Brighton on Sunday (4 May), with five Champions League places on offer to top-flight clubs this season.
Sources have told Football Insider Newcastle’s current league position would bank them £50.4million, which is around £11.2million more than they generated last season.
Howe’s side also claimed the Carabao Cup in March after beating Liverpool in the final, but they only earned around £182,000 in prize money following their Wembley success.

Newcastle could land £100m windfall after stunning twist
Newcastle have struggled to comply with the profit and sustainability rules (PSR) since Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) secured its £305million takeover in October 2021.
However, their losses before tax fell dramatically from £72million in 2022-23 to £11million in 2023-24, with top-flight clubs only permitted to make £105million of losses over a rolling three-year period.
Newcastle posted a record-breaking revenue last season after their turnover increased from £250million in 2022-23 to £320million.
The Tynesiders could provide their financial situation with a significant boost if they can qualify for the Champions League this season.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Newcastle could generate up to £100million in prize money from the competition.

Alexander Isak to stay at Newcastle after stance revealed
In terms of matters on the pitch, Football Insider revealed on 19 April Newcastle are set to price rivals out of signing Alexander Isak ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal and Liverpool have watched the forward closely and are interested in making a mega-money move for the Sweden international.
However, with Newcastle well placed to qualify for the Champions League, they are in a position to refuse offers for the 25-year-old this summer.
