Announcement today: North-west club agree to sign Wolves 21-yr-old - Exclusive

Accrington Stanley have agreed a deal to sign Wolves striker Benny Ashley-Seal before tonight’s transfer cut-off, Football Insider understands.

The League One club have swooped to beat a number of Football League clubs to the loan signature of the 21-year-old attacker.

A Wolves source has told Football Insider that the terms of the transfer are agreed with Accrington and Ashley-Seal has headed to the club to finalise it before an announcement later today.

It is understood a number of Football League clubs have expressed an interest in taking the forward on a temporary basis.

But Accrington have convinced Wolves and Ashley-Seal his future is best served by making the journey to the north-west club for the rest of the campaign.

Ashley-Seal made his first-team debut earlier this season in the Carabao Cup game against Aston Villa in October and he was handed his first senior start in the FA Cup clash with Manchester United earlier this month.

He has also been named on the bench for six Premier League games so far this season.

The powerful forward is a prolific goalscorer for Wolves and he has netted eight goals in 13 games for the club’s U23s side this term.

Wolves feel the former Norwich youngster will benefit by going out on loan and gaining valuable first-team experience before returning to Molineux next season to challenge for a regular spot in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Accrington are currently in 17th spot in League One and John Coleman sees Ashley-Seal as someone who can fire the goals to steer his side away from a relegation fight.
