EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke
Nottingham Forest forward Jason Cummings is set to join League One leaders Luton Town on loan, Football Insider understands.
Cummings had been on loan at Peterborough United after joining the Posh on a season-long loan deal in the summer, but Peterborough have cancelled the loan early to allow him to return to Forest.
The former Rangers man does not figure in Forest’s plans going forward and new Forest boss Martin O’Neill is happy to let him go out on loan again.
A source close to the club has told Football Insider that the terms of the loan are agreed and Cummings is headed to Kenilworth Road.
Luton are keen to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window closes and they see Cummings as someone who can score the goals to fire them to promotion to the Championship.
The 23-year-old scored eight goals in 29 games for Peterborough, but he found himself out of favour for the last few weeks at London Road.
In other Nottingham Forest transfer news, it can be revealed O’Neill is working on a last-gasp deal to recruit Stoke big name.
