Nottingham Forest midfielder Jorge Grant is set to join Mansfield Town on loan following his return from Luton Town, Football Insider understands.
Grant joined Luton on a season-long loan in the summer, but Forest recalled him early and he is now set to make the move to League Two hopefuls Mansfield.
Forest have received a host of enquiries about taking Grant on loan, but a well-placed source has told Football Insider that the east Midlands outfit have moved quickly to agree the terms of a deal with the Championship club.
The 23-year-old attacker scored four goals in 22 appearances in all competitions during his time at high-flying Luton.
Grant is highly-regarded at Forest after coming through the ranks at the City Ground, but he unlikely to break into the first-team for the second half of the season.
Mansfield enjoy a good working relationship with Forest as they already have Tyler Walker and Jordan Sminth on loan from the City Ground and Grant will now become the third signing from Forest.
Mansfield are currently in fifth spot in League Two and they see Grant as someone who can boost their promotion bid in the second half of the campaign.
Nathan Jones, who quit as Luton boss today to take over at Stoke City last, has described Grant as a “wonderful, wonderful footballer”.
In other Nottingham Forest transfer news, Football Insider can reveal the club are in the hunt to sign a midfielder who quit Premier League club last Friday.
