Nottingham Forest have made a beat-the-deadline move to sign Wolves forward Leo Bonatini, Football Insider understands.
Wolves are willing to let Bonatini go out on loan before the transfer window slams shut as he is out of favour at Molineux.
Bonatini, who made his loan move from Saudi Professional League side Al-Hilal permanent in the summer, has only made nine appearances in all competitions so far this season, with his only starts coming in the EFL Cup.
The 24-year-old scored 12 goals in 43 games last season to help Wolves win promotion to the Premier League, but the summer arrival of Raul Jiminez from Benfica has pushed him down the pecking order.
A number of Championship clubs have made enquiries about Bonatini this month, but a source close to the club has told Football Insider that Forest are hopeful of luring the forward to the City Ground.
Forest boss Martin O’Neill is expected to be busy on deadline day as he looks to reshape the squad and Forest have already signed midfielder Pele from Monaco on deadline day.
In other Nottingham Forest transfer news, it can be revealed O’Neill is working on a last-gasp deal to recruit Stoke big name.
