Exclusive: Paul Robinson advises Rangers player to stay at Ibrox despite reported PL interest
Paul Robinson advised Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara to stay at Ibrox and ignore the reported interest from Aston Villa.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Premier League keeper pointed out that if he was Kamara, he wouldn’t be in any hurry to leave the Gers.
It was recently reported that Villa are one of a number of Premier League clubs tracking the 24-year-old midfielder as Arsenal, Brighton Crystal Palace and Burnley are all thought to be keen.
Robinson explained that the Gers should be a more attractive prospect for Kamara than Villa as it’s better to be on the brink of winning the league title in Scotland than battling relegation in England.
When asked about Aston Villa pursuing Kamara’s services, Robinson told Football Insider: “It’s obvious they’ve spent a lot of money and if that’s the market they’re looking at, they’re not looking to spend much more.
“But they need signings to cover short-term injuries, but at the moment, I wouldn’t be in any hurry to leave Rangers.

“To be where Rangers are, the way they beat Celtic, to potentially win their first title in however many years…or fight relegation in the Premier League, I think Rangers should be a more attractive prospect at the moment.”
Kamara has featured 29 times across all competitions this season and has racked up one goal in the process.
The Villans are believed to have set their sights on the Finnish midfielder as manager Dean Smith wants an experienced midfielder signed with John McGinn stuck on the sidelines.
