Exclusive: Robinson tips West Brom to pull off 'Great' signing after significant reveal

Paul Robinson says that Martin Olsson’s fitness should be enough to earn him a contract at West Brom this month.

The former Spurs and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that his former teammate is a true professional and should have no trouble proving himself at the Hawthorns.

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic made the significant reveal that the 31-year-old, currently a free agent, had joined his first-team squad with a view to a prospective signing after leaving Swansea City last summer.

Having played alongside the Swedish international at Blackburn Rovers, Robinson says he has no doubts he will be able to prove his fitness levels despite having been without a club for the first half of the season.

“Martin was a very, very fit young lad,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“Always had a great engine, a very good left foot, if he got into trouble he could always get himself out of trouble with pace. Very reliable, very good character, true professional.

“I think he’d probably be able to earn a contract just on his fitness levels, he’d be a great addition to the squad between now and the end of the season.”

Olsson left Swansea last summer after struggling for game time at the Liberty Stadium, playing just 17 games in the Championship.

The 48-cap international, who has 197 Premier League appearances under his belt, last featured in December 2018.

In other West Brom news, Alan Hutton has tipped a senior player to leave the club as the Baggies plot a new signing this month.
