Exclusive: Sean Dyche to Leicester latest after manager rejects offer
Leicester City could be left in managerial limbo after the sacking of Ruud van Nistelrooy is finalised, sources have told Football Insider.
It has been widely reported that Van Nistelrooy, 48, will depart the club next month – as expected after a disastrous reign at the King Power Stadium.
However, Leicester face a potential points deduction in the Championship next term after being charged with a breach of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) for the 2024-25 campaign.
Russell Martin has already rejected the job and joined Rangers, leaving Sean Dyche as the leading candidate to take the Foxes hot seat.
Leicester in limbo with points deduction pending
Dyche is waiting for the right opportunity and could leave Leicester in limbo until their punishment for the 2025-26 season is confirmed.
The Foxes job remains an attractive proposition with the current squad capable of mounting a promotion push in the coming season.

Dyche was sacked at Everton in January after two years at Goodison Park, despite steering the Merseysiders clear of relegation in back-to-back seasons.
Van Nistelrooy, who is under contract until June 2027, won just five of 27 games in charge at Leicester across all competitions.
The Foxes finished 19th in the Premier League last term after sacking Steve Cooper with the club sitting 16th after 12 games.

Leicester face fight to keep star man
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (14 June) that Leicester face a fight to keep hold of winger Stephy Mavididi this summer.
Atalanta, Bologna and Villarreal – as well as English clubs – are ready to move for the skilful attacker.
Mavididi contributed six goals and one assist across 33 appearances in all competitions last season.
