Manchester City starlet Ryan Corrigan is set to leave the club to join Stoke City on a permanent deal, Football Insider understands.

Stoke have moved to offer the left-back a quicker pathway to first-team football at the Championship club and they see the 18-year-old as a potential star in the making.

A source close to the club has told Football Insider that the terms of a deadline-day deal has been agreed and he will be unveiled as a new signing.

Corrigan began his career at Everton and came through the youth ranks at Goodison Park before being lured away by City in the summer of 2015.

The Republic of Ireland youth international was highly-regarded within the corridors of power at the Etihad Stadium and he impressed for the club’s Under-18s side

However, Corrigan has been unable to break into City’s star-studded first-team and he has decided to move on in search of first-team football.
