Exclusive: Thomas Frank in pole position to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham
Thomas Frank is emerging as Tottenham’s number one choice to replace Ange Postecoglou as manager, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed last Sunday that Spurs have decided to sack Postecoglou and, barring a late u-turn, an announcement is expected to be made soon.
Club chiefs have been exploring alternatives to the Australian manager for months, including Brentford’s Frank, Fulham’s Marco Silva and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola.
It is believed Tottenham are increasingly convinced by the credentials of the long-serving Bees boss Frank, who has been in charge at the Brentford Community Stadium since 2018.
His proven Premier League track record and ability to develop players tick key Spurs boxes in the hunt for their next manager.
The Tottenham hierarchy are weighing up ending Postecoglou’s reign in north London despite the 59-year-old delivering the club’s first trophy in 17 years.

Thomas Frank edges ahead in race to be named Tottenham boss
Frank has enjoyed a largely successful 2024-25 season in charge of Brentford, guiding them to a 10th-place finish in the top flight.
Despite suffering two defeats to Spurs in the Premier League this term, the Bees side had a significantly better domestic season than their London counterparts, who slumped to 17th.
Although Tottenham endured a difficult league campaign that saw them lose 22 games – just two more than relegated Ipswich Town – they sealed Champions League qualification thanks to their Europa League triumph.
The Spurs hierarchy are said to be impressed with Frank’s staying power having previously managed Brentford in the Championship, and they see him as the man who can lead them into Europe’s premier competition next season.

‘Tottenham to help fund £68m Eberechi Eze deal with Son Heung-min Saudi sale’
Meanwhile, Tottenham could use Son Heung-min’s contract extension to seal a big-money transfer for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
Spurs triggered the one-year extension in the South Korean’s deal to see him remain in North London until the summer of 2026, having notched 11 goals and 11 assists in 46 games this season.
Football Insider understands that Tottenham are planning to open talks with Eze’s agent over a potential move across London following an incredible campaign, with a £68million release clause currently in the player’s contract.
