Exclusive: Timeframe revealed for Rangers manager appointment
Rangers will take their time over the appointment of a new manager following the departure of Russell Martin, sources have told Football Insider.
Martin was sacked by Rangers on Sunday (5 October), following a disastrous spell in charge, in which he managed just one Scottish Premiership victory.
Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Falkirk was the last straw for the board, who finally listened to the calls from supporters and dismissed the 39-year-old.
The Gers currently sit eighth in the table, and are already 11 points adrift of table-topping Hearts.

Rangers to bide their time with managerial decision
Sources say that Rangers are likely to use the international break to their advantage and use much of the two-week hiatus to make a decision on a managerial appointment.
The hierarchy at the Glasgow giants will not be rushing into anything, as they want to ensure that they don’t make another mistake.
Rangers are now on the search for their fourth manager of 2025, in what has been an incredibly tumultuous nine months for the club.
Philippe Clement was sacked back in February, with Barry Ferguson taking caretaker charge until the end of the campaign.
Ferguson was then relieved of his duties and replaced by Martin at the start of June, who was subsequently dismissed four months after his appointment.
Rangers have no shortage of manager options
Rangers are already being linked to several managers, including the likes of Steven Gerrard, Sean Dyche, and Danny Rohl.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (6 October) morning that Gerrard would jump at the opportunity to rejoin Rangers, after leaving the Glasgow giants back in 2021.
Rohl and Dyche were both names under consideration over the summer, before the Gers eventually opted for Martin.
Kevin Muscat and Mark van Bommel have also been linked with the role at Ibrox, as the Rangers hierarchy continue the process of shortlisting names.
