West Brom have joined Aston Villa in the chase for Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah, Football Insider understands.
Championship duo West Brom and Villa are both looking to strengthen their midfield options before the close of the transfer window and they have identified Chalobah as a top target.
A source close to the player has told Football Insider that West Brom and Villa have both made enquiries to Watford about his possible availability this month.
Both clubs are looking for a box-to-box midfielder and former Chelsea man Chalobah would fit that profile for both West Brom and Villa.
Chalobah has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Watford side this season, making just 10 appearances for Javi Gracia’s side.
The 24-year-old, who made his England debut last October, could be interested in a move away in search of regular first-team football to boost his chances of breaking back into the England squad.
In other West Brom news, it can be REVEALED the club have made a fresh swoop to sign a Premier League star after new talks.
