Expert: Arsenal bottle it as Tottenham tipped to win top-four race

Tottenham could be “out of sight” in the top-four race by the time they play Arsenal on 12 May.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham moved three points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal with a 4-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday (9 April).

The Gunners do have a game in hand on their rivals but the two sides will face off before the end of the season.

Wenham now claims Spurs could be even further ahead of Arsenal before that game takes place.

“I’m now starting to think Tottenham might already be out of sight by the time we play Arsenal,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Arsenal have very, very difficult games. The games against Palace and Brighton were actually their easier games.

“I had them down to drop something to Southampton as well. I know they got beat 6-0 by Chelsea at the weekend but when they have had these big defeats under Hasenhuttl, they have bounced back really well.

“I think that will be a difficult games. Then Arsenal have Chelsea away.

“If we can get a win against Brighton in the early kick off next Saturday, there will be massive pressure on Arsenal.

“Arsenal have shown they absolutely crumble under pressure. They have had some bad injuries but that’s football.

“Mikel Arteta’s job was to sort his squad out and he hasn’t done that.

Xhaka played at left-back against Brighton, leaving Lokonga to play in midfield and he just isn’t up to it.”
