Expert: Christopher Jullien set for Celtic exit this summer – ‘he’s not in Ange’s plans’

Out of favour defender Christopher Jullien is likely to be sold by Celtic this summer.

That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the central defender’s future.

Jullien, 29, has only made one appearance for Celtic this season after he fought back from an injury that sidelined him for a year.

In his absence, the Hoops have found a new starting centre-back partnership in Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt.

Due to Jullien’s lack of minutes this season, McAvennie claims he will be sold this summer.

“Ange doesn’t fancy him, you forget he plays for us,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s played once this season so you do wonder if Ange has decided he isn’t good enough.

“To not even have had some sub appearances at the end of games, that speaks volumes for me.

“So, he’s one who could go this summer because he hasn’t played regular football for so long now.

“It’s probably better for everyone that he is moved on because I’m sure if Ange rated him then he would be playing.

“I just get the feeling he’s not in Ange’s plans because there was a big deal maced about him coming back and now there is nothing.”

Jullien has scored 10 goals and supplied four assists in 62 appearances in all competitions for Celtic.

He joined the club in the summer of 2019 from French side Toulouse.
