Expert: Djed Spence’s move to Tottenham is ‘99% going to happen’ as sources reveal fee

The deal taking Djed Spence from Middlesbrough to Tottenham is “99% going to happen”.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Spence, 21, has enjoyed a stellar campaign while on loan at Nottingham Forest, making 45 appearances in all competitions.

He has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs after registering five assists in 39 Championship outings.

According to ESPN (31 January), Tottenham saw two transfer deadline day bids for the wing-back rejected.

After speaking to his sources, Wenham claims a £10million deal is close to being completed.

“I think Spence is 99% going to happen,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That’s what I am hearing and the fee is actually really reasonable as well.

“It’s around £10million. That’s a no brainer, thank you very much. He’s the one a lot of clubs have been linked with.

“So it sounds like we are getting a really good deal and getting it done early which is great to see.”

Spence spent his youth at Fulham before moving to Middlesbrough in 2018.
