Expert issues 'big' Danny Ings injury claim after Aston Villa latest
Danny Ings can lead Unai Emery’s Aston Villa revival after getting back amongst the goals against Aston Villa.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Englishman’s form.
Ings, 30, scored twice as Aston Villa beat Brighton 2-1 on Sunday (13 November).
The former Liverpool man has now bagged five Premier League goals in 14 appearances this term, though he has only been in from the start on eight occasions.
McManus claims Ings can play a significant role in turning Villa’s season around after the World Cup.
“I have always liked Danny Ings when he was at Burnley and then he went to Liverpool,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“I think he should be doing better but he does have that ability in his locker. One of his goals against Brighton was very fortunate, it took a big deflection.
“It was a great result for Villa and that is back-to-back wins for them now. Ings has been spearheading that.
“I believe Villa only had two shots on target yesterday and they scored twice, that shows what Ings can do when he is given the time.
“The big thing is injuries, if he can stay fit then he can be very useful for Villa. But we know how many games are going to be played in the second half of the season so it will be something they have to keep an eye on.”
Ings has made 47 total appearances for Villa.
He has scored 13 goals in those outings.
