Expert issues verdict on Tottenham signing three Watford players – ‘people have been asking’
Tottenham will not be signing any of the Watford youth stars who were on trial with the club during a recent youth tournament.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
A Spurs youth side participated in the Dutch Terborg tournament last week (starting 23 May) but finished bottom out of the eight teams involved.
Three Watford youth players, Charlie Davis, Jack Grieves and Tobi Adeyemo, were also part of the squad.
However, Wenham claims Spurs will not be signing them.
“Our squad was made up of six first years and then some second-year players as well as three boys on trial from Watford,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“A lot of people have been asking me about that. The reason is you are only allowed to take a certain number of Under 23s to this tournament.
“We didn’t have any more second years to send because we have released them all already. So we borrowed some players from Watford.
“I don’t think we will be signing any of those boys but we have a really good relationship with Watford.
“If you go to Watford and ask if three of their boys want to train with us for a week and go to Holland for a tournament, that’s great experience for them.“

Wenham told this site (31 May) that he was left “gutted” by Spurs’ performance in the tournament.
The conclusion of that competition brings and en to the academy’s 2021-22 season.
