Expert ‘surprised’ by Tottenham source’s Reguilon update
Kevin Campbell has claimed it is a “surprise” to see Sergio Reguilon inch closer to a Sevilla return after being made surplus to requirements at Tottenham.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, cited the decision as an example of Antonio Conte’s ruthlessness when building a squad.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (12 July) that Sevilla are in advanced talks to re-sign Tottenham defender Reguilon, 25, on a season-long loan.

It is understood that Spurs are keen to offload the £27million defender after he was deemed surplus to requirements by Conte.
Reguilon, formerly of Real Madrid, has three years left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The London side confirmed on 9 July that the left-back is one of four first-team stars to be left out of the squad for the pre-season tour of South Korea.
Campbell told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “It does surprise me.
“I thought Reguilon had done pretty well – but it just shows how ruthless Conte is when it comes to moulding a squad.
“If he’s not sure, he’s not going to proceed with you – and he’s obviously not sure about Reguilon.
“He’s gonna try and get him out this summer.”
Reguilon, who has six caps for Spain, notched two goals and three assists across 31 appearances for Tottenham in the 2021-22 campaign.

Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks were also left out of the squad for the pre-season tour of Asia.
Spurs kick off the 2022-23 season at home against Southampton on 8 August.
