'Extremely hopeful' - Insider delivers huge update on Rangers striker hunt, talks ongoing
Rangers are “extremely hopeful” a deal will get done to sign striker Jason Cummings after a club insider reported that the Light Blues were locked in talks with Nottingham Forest over making the 22-year-old’s loan move permanent.
According to Four Lads Had A Dream on Twitter, who have a great record on transfer news from the Gers, talks are “ongoing” between the clubs over a deal for the Scotland international.

Cummings joined the Gers in January from Aitor Karanka’s side and scored six times in 18 appearances for the Light Blues as they could only manage to finish third in the Scottish Premiership.
Football Insider verdict:
The Gers announced when they confirmed Cummings’ arrival on loan that they had an agreement in place to make Cummings deal permanent in the summer so it isn’t a surprise to see talks are ongoing over doing exactly that. Despite not setting the world alight during his loan spell, Cummings didn’t do terribly and would definitely add some depth to the squad. If the Light Blues can get him for around £1million it would be a decent bit of business and give the Gers someone who can still get much better as he continues to mature. While he’s not good enough to lead the line regularly if Steven Gerrard’s side want to challenge for the title, he can certainly have an impact and pop up with vital goals over the course of the season. Cummings is also someone who could make leaps and bounds in his development by getting to play with better players on a more consistent basis.
