Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has denied talk of him confirming that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is heading to Turin this summer.
The former Real Madrid ace rubbished his involvement in the potential transfer on his official Twitter feed and denounced the speculation that a Sports Illustrated source had overheard him talking about Can as “fake news” and said that he must have “a secret twin brother.”
Khedira, who as well as Can is a German international wrote, “A Sports Illustrated source heard me confirm Emre Can is coming to @juventusfc this summer. ONly one possible explanation: I am having a secret twin brother. I don’t know what Emre will do next season… #shoutouttomymum #fakenews.”

There has been a lot of talk that the Serie A champions are set to be the next destination for the Reds ace who is free to leave Anfield this summer after failing to agree on a new contract to remain with the Merseysiders.
Football Insider verdict:
It’s not really a player’s place to get involved in transfer speculation as it could potentially undermine negotiations that may be ongoing. So while Khedira has denied any involvement in the saga there is no smoke without fire and the continual rumours suggesting a switch to Turin are bound to be confirmed soon. However, it does seem an odd move for Can to make. At Liverpool, he can realise his potential under Jurgen Klopp and continue to progress to become the best in his position in the world. The Reds are going places and why he doesn’t want to be a part of the club’s progression in the future is unclear.
