Arsene Wenger said that he would quit as Arsenal manager at the end of the season, after over 20 years in charge of the north London club.
Following the stunning news, Celtic’s majority shareholder Dermot Desmond was interviewed on Sky Sports where he said that he wouldn’t stand in Rodgers’ way if he was approached to be their new manager.
The interview was posted on the official Sky Sports Scotland Twitter page on Friday morning.

Most Celtic fans are not happy with this, thinking that it’s giving Rodgers carte blanche to walk out on the club.
However, one fan asked what Desmond was supposed to say? He said that if Celtic announced a statement saying Rodgers wasn’t going anywhere it wouldn’t go down well with the manager.
However, other fans are perplexed by the statement, with one saying that surely Desmond didn’t actually need to say anything.
Here are the best Celtic reactions to the interview given by Desmond:
A bit perplexed by Dermot Desmond's statement regarding Brendan. To say he would not stand in his way of going to Arsenal is tantamount to saying go if you want. FFS Dermot, speak up for the club or tell us Pep is standing by.

Not sure there's any need to be saying anything https://t.co/dI8QDRz7JA

FFS wise up. What was Dermot Desmond supposed to say?
'I'll prevent Brendan going anywhere'
How would that've gone down with the manager? Arsenal have their appointment ready to go. It's not Brendan Rodgers. #Celtic
