'Get rid and take a loss', 'Sunday League' – Everton fans destroy one player in loss v West Ham

Everton started the day in eighth and finished in eighth, but it was a terrible end to a disappointing season as they lost 3-1 to West Ham, and fans were fuming after another poor display from defender Michael Keane.

The 25-year-old centre back was one of the country’s brightest prospects when Everton bought him for £26million from Burnley last summer.

But it hasn’t worked out at all for him at Goodison and he must be wondering what went wrong as his chances of making it to the World Cup finals have gone up in smoke.

Back to Everton though, and the season started off badly and improved, although manager Sam Allardyce won’t find many Everton fans to thank him.

And probably rightly so. Everton fans deserve better football for the amount of money the owners have spent on the team, and we imagine that Allardyce won’t be the man tasked with getting it right this summer.

Keane was one of the biggest culprits this afternoon as Everton faced another under-performing team at the London Stadium.

West Ham came out of this battle with the points but both sets of fans know they’ve got a lot of work to do in the summer to stand any chance of getting to where they think they should be – in Europe.

Meanwhile, here are the best reactions from frustrated Everton fans to another poor Keane performance in blue:
