Scott Brown was shown a straight red card as Celtic recorded a 2-2 draw against Ross County on Sunday – and fans on Twiter have reacted to him possibly missing the Rangers game.

Brendan Rodgers side were leading the game 2-1 with minutes left on the clock before Alex Schalk dived in the penalty area with the referee awarding the spot kick.

Liam Boyce stepped up a duly converted the penalty to the delight of the home supporters, who nicked a point against the Scottish Champions.

However, after that incident, Brown lunged at Boyce with the referee showing a straight red to the Celtic man.

Brown has been a key figure for the club during this campaign as they are hoping to end the season unbeaten.

After their semi-final showdown against the Gers next week, they will meet once again this time on April 29 at Ibrox.

There is still the possibility that Brown could feature in the two Old Firm clashes, but it will first depend on whether or not Celtic appeal the red card.

If they do that and are successful then Brown would provide a huge boost to his team who will be looking to secure their fourth win over their rivals this term.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Over the course of the season, Brown has played 49 matches in all competitions for his side, scoring three goals and supplying three assists.

The combative midfielder has played in all four Old Firm clash this term, helping his team pick up three wins during those matches.
