Leeds United announced that young striker Ryan Edmondson would be travelling with the senior team for the Championship game against Norwich on Saturday, and fans are ecstatic.

Leeds made the news official by posting it on their Twitter page on Friday evening, with the further news that long-term injury lay-off Luke Ayling would also be on the coach.

Ayling hasn’t featured for the first team since his ankle surgery in January, since when his team has been on a disastrous run of three wins in 18 games.

Ryan Edmondson is only 16 and has yet to make a senior appearance for the club.

Fans reacted to the news with delight ahead of the Norwich game.

The one highlight in a pretty gloomy season has been the emergence of youth, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Tom Pearce and Paudie O’Connor all making the jump up to the senior team.
