On the beach, Disappeared – Leeds fans annihilate one player after first-half display v Norwich

The Leeds season is coming to a spluttering end after burning so brightly at the start of the season.

The mood of the players and the fans couldn’t be any more different from the start of the campaign when Thomas Christiansen took his team to the top of the table.

This table-topping feat came on the back of some heroics from summer signing Samu Saiz, but his form has gone the same way as his side and fans were massively frustrated at the diminutive Spaniard today.

One fan even had a go at him before the match had started, making reference to his strop after getting subbed by manager Paul Heckingbottom in the game last week.

With Wes Hoolahan getting a guard of honour, the fan wittily said that Saiz was having a tantrum because he wasn’t getting one.

Other fans were just saying that he had completely disappeared and that he was playing like he was on the beach already.

There was nothing to celebrate for Leeds fans at half-time either, despite a cracking strike from Kalvin Phillips giving their side the lead. A deflected Wes Hoolahan effort right at the death made the score 1-1.

Here are the best reactions to Saiz’s first-half display from frustrated Leeds fans:
