There has not yet been an official announcement but that only appears to be a matter of time following Sarkic’s public hint.
Leeds fans, who witnessed a dizzying overhaul of the senior squad this summer, are now seeing major changes in the youth set-up and are excited at the imminent arrival from one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Why are all the Web Blogs going on about some Sarkic guy we are supposed to have bought. Would have been announced if it had happened #lufc

The forward, 20, underwent a trial at Premier League outfit Swansea earlier this summer and was selected for two matches on their Under-23s tour of Northern Ireland.
But a deal collapsed and Leeds have taken advantage of Sarkic’s desire to move back to England.
The youngster, who was born in England but is a Montenegro Under-21 international, began his career with Anderlecht before joining Benfica in 2014.
He is a member of the Portugese giants’ ‘B’ squad and has yet to make a senior appearance, although he scored three goals in six matches for the club in the UEFA Youth League at under-19 level, scoring three goals.
Sarkic has a twin brother, Matija, who has just joined Wigan Athletic on loan from Leeds’ Championship rivals Aston Villa.
Sarkic is the latest rising star to join the Leeds academy after it emerged that three players have just joined from two of the world’s biggest clubs.
In other Leeds United transfer news, fans have reacted to confirmation that the club have secured a last-gasp agreement with a colossus by insisting there will be “limbs all over the shop”.
