Fans rip into Tottenham ace on Twitter after poor display in England win v Lithuania
By Harvey Byrne
Eric Dier played the full 90 minutes as England earned a 2-0 victory over Lithuania on Sunday afternoon – but fans were unhappy with his display.
The versatile 23-year-old was named in Gareth Southgate’s midfield for the second consecutive match as the Three Lions lined up for their World Cup qualifying match.
Tottenham were well represented in the victory and fellow Spurs players Kyle Walker and Dele Alli also started with former man Jermain Defoe opening the scoring in the first half before Jamie Vardy scored in the second half.
Dier helped England keep a clean sheet against the team ranked 107th in the FIFA world rankings.
But, a number of fans on social media were less than impressed with his overall performance.

Dier has largely been used as a centre-back for Tottenham this season with summer addition Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele taking up the midfield spots.
However, with 37 appearances to his name, the 17-time capped England international has certainly played his part in helping Spurs nestle in second place in the Premier League table.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have been tipped to sign this European goal machine who has already been capped by Germany at 21.
