Fans stunned by ‘wild’ Brendan Rodgers update, ‘big-money’ deal almost completed
Brendan Rodgers is close to a return to management just seven weeks after he resigned as Celtic boss.
Oddsmakers had Rodgers leading the race for the Fulham job, with the Northern Irishman expected to return to the Premier League.
The 52-year-old enjoyed stints with Liverpool, Swansea City and Leicester City in the English top flight, and was on the radar for several clubs.
Rodgers was in the running for the Burnley job, with Scott Parker struggling to drag his team into form since their promotion.
And Leeds United were also considering Rodgers in the event of Daniel Farke‘s departure, although the German’s immediate future has stabilised in recent weeks.

Brendan Rodgers on verge of new agreement
Rodgers resigned from Celtic in October, after an extremely public fall-out between the head coach and majority shareholder Dermot Desmond.
The businessman said, in a letter to fans, that the Northern Irishman’s comments on signings had been “divisive, misleading and self-serving.“

Rodgers was replaced on an interim basis by Martin O’Neill, who has since made way for the already under-fire Wilfried Nancy.
The Frenchman led Celtic to their third consecutive loss on Sunday, the latest coming against St. Mirren in the Scottish League Cup final.
But Rodgers now looks set for pastures new, with David Ornstein reporting on Monday that the 52-year-old is close to an agreement that would see him become the new Al Qadsiah head coach.
Aramco-owned Al Qadsiah sit fifth in the Saudi Pro League, and sacked former Real Madrid player Michel Gonzalez on Sunday.
Football fans stunned by ‘crazy’ Rodgers development
Fans immediately reacted to the news about Rodgers’ new job, with one calling the move “wild”, and remarking on the rise of the Saudi Pro League.
Others shared a similar sentiment, with one user explaining that the move is proof that the league is growing by the year.
Rodgers’ decision has been described by some fans as “crazy” and “incredible”, with a similar move not working out for Steven Gerrard last year.
The former Rangers boss spent 18 months in charge of Al-Ettifaq, and has not returned to management since his exit in January.
In that respect, one fan questioned whether the “big money move” is about “ambition” or “legacy” for Rodgers.
