Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham react to Joao Felix amid Chelsea exit rumours

Joao Felix has taken to social media with a brand-new update as questions emerge over his future at Chelsea this summer.

The 25-year-old has struggled at Stamford Bridge since joining the Blues on a £52million deal from Atletico Madrid last summer, making just 20 appearances before being sent out on loan.

It is unclear exactly what AC Milan are planning with Chelsea’s loan star, with the player set to return to London at the end of the season, but he has certainly failed to impress in Italy as well.

The plan is clear back at Stamford Bridge, however, with Mick Brown telling Football Insider that Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for Felix once he returns from his loan spell.

Joao Felix faces an uncertain future at Chelsea

Taking to Instagram (8 April), Felix posted pictures from what appeared to be an interview, captioned simply with a video camera and speaking emojis.

Newcastle United‘s Kieran Trippier and Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo liked the post, as did Serie A duo Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, with both currently playing with him at AC Milan.

Enzo Maresca must get rid of deadweight during summer transfer window

Football Insider verdict

Felix will be just one of a number of players that Enzo Maresca needs to get rid of once the summer transfer window opens up, with the squad just far too big to keep everyone happy.

The likes of Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are all non-negotiables, but supporters would be happy to see the back of Robert Sanchez, Christopher Nkunku and Benoit Badiashile.

There will be plenty of business for the club to do behind the scenes, and the manager will be wanting to make new additions to take Chelsea to the next level, though Maresca might not be in charge by that point.

Felix’s signing is just another one of the poor decisions made under Todd Boehly‘s guidance since his takeover in 2022, and there will likely be more to come from the American.

With the Blues possibly playing Champions League football next season, the loan players will be keen to break into the starting lineup, but they could be moving permanent homes instead.
