Former Celtic striker Kris Commons has claimed that the Hoops winning the title at home against their bitter rivals Rangers is the best possible way to clinch their seventh title in a row.
The Hoops could have won the title with a victory in their last match, but they lost 2-1 to Hibernian, and as a result they can clinch the title against their Old Firm rivals for the first time since 1979 with a win on Sunday.
Commons, as shown on Sky Sports Scotland Twitter account, believes that it is the ideal title-winning scenario for the Hoops support.
“It’s even sweeter when it’s in front of your home support, so that’ll be a big plus for Celtic, but to clinch it against Rangers will be the icing on the cake, something that as a player very rarely comes around, the players will be fired up and the fans certainly will be fired up,” said the Sky Sports pundit.

The Hoops could have clinched the title against their oldest rivals at Ibrox in 2012, a match which Commons played in, but they lost 3-2 on the day.
Football Insider verdict
The atmosphere at kick-off time at Celtic Park on Sunday could be very intimidating, as the fans are likely to be hyped into a frenzy at the rare prospect of winning the league against the Gers. An early goal for the Bhoys could set up a huge day of celebrations, but Graeme Murty will be looking for his side to put up a fight, when most people seem to think that they will be thrashed at Celtic Park. Of course, football doesn’t always work like that, but if the Hoops play to the best of their ability then they should be more than good enough to get the win that’s required to seal seven in a row and then the party can start in the East End of Glasgow.
