Florian Wirtz cited as ‘Aston Villa plan to accept £90m offer for star man’
Morgan Rogers was the breakout star for Aston Villa in the 2024-25 campaign – which ultimately ended in disappointment as they finished sixth.
The 22-year-old notched 14 goals and 15 assists across 54 appearances in his first full season at Villa Park.
Rogers has attracted interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City so far this summer and TBR Football have now claimed (19 June) Vincent Kompany is now pushing for Bayern Munich to sign him.
Football Insider revealed on 25 June that Aston Villa must make around £30million worth of player sales within days to avoid breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) – and sales could continue into July.
Villa’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Villa Park between 2016 and 2018 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has claimed his old side could not turn down a £90million bid for Rogers.

Bayern could tap Rogers as a Wirtz alternative, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted he expects Rogers to leave – and could be a Florian Wirtz alternative for Bayern.
The Bavarian giants were prepared to pay in excess of £100million to land Wirtz, but he chose to make the move to Premier League champions Liverpool.
Wyness insisted Villa fans will be happy to see Rogers head abroad if he is to leave.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “While Morgan Rogers is not the one that Villa want to sell, he’s the asset they probably will have to sell.
“I think with Bayern, what’s interesting is obviously they were after Florian Wirtz as well – he went to Liverpool.
“I believe Bayern would value Morgan Rogers in that sort of range. I think we’re talking the £90million sort of mark – Villa could not turn that down.
“I do expect Morgan to go. Bayern would be great for Villa fans because they don’t have to see him for a competitive team in the Premier League, which is the upside of it.
“I do expect this one to go through at a high price.”

Aston Villa ready to sell three more players
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 24 June that Aston Villa are ready to sell Leander Dendoncker, Louie Barry and Kaine Kesler-Hayden by the end of this week.
The Premier League club have told the trio they are free to find new clubs before the 30 June accounts deadline as they look to ease PSR concerns.
Emiliano Martinez is also among those in talks to join a new club, with Atletico Madrid among those interested as Villa try to engineer a big-money sale.
