West Ham defender Jose Fonte has fired a warning at Tottenham claiming his side “will give everything” to win.
The sides meet on Friday night at the London Stadium as the Hammers look to continue their unbeaten run, while Spurs will hope to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea.
Slaven Bilic’s side sit 14th and are currently four Premier League games unbeaten, having secured a goalless draw away at Stoke last time out.
The run has seen them climb away from the drop zone.
However Spurs have won nine league ties on the trot and will be high on confidence having beaten North London derby rivals Arsenal 2-0 last time out.
Since his January switch from Southampton Fonte has become a mainstay of the Hammers’ defence, featuring in all 13 of their Premier League matches since his arrival.
Speaking ahead of the Friday night clash in the Evening Standard, the 33-year-old said: “We will give everything and continue to work really hard because that’s the only way.
“We know they are fighting for the title and they are playing really well and have a good manager and good players, but we’re at home and we want to make sure we beat them and give the fans something to be proud of.
“We want to win every game between now and the end of the season and finish on a high.”
20-time Portuguese international Fonte did not feature the last time the sides met, as Spurs escaped with a win after two late goals from Harry Kane.
The Hammers had led the match at White Hart Lane 2-1 through Michail Antonio and Manuel Lanzini, only for Kane to strike twice in the closing minutes to steal all three points.
