Forget Kane: Nuno must build Tottenham around this superstar after rival manager claim - pundit
Noel Whelan has claimed Nuno Espirito Santo should build his Tottenham side around Heung-min Son moving forward.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 29-year-old is a superstar and “just as important” as Harry Kane to the Lilywhites.
As quoted by Football.london Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat against Tottenham on Sunday, Villains boss Dean Smith claimed the difference between the teams was “the outstanding player on the pitch” in Son.
The South Korean superstar has scored three goals and registered one assist in six Premier League games this season.
Conversely, Kane is yet to score in the Premier League this term.
Son agreed a new deal at Tottenham in July, pledging his future to the north London side until 2025.

Whelan suggested the forward is the “driving force” behind Spurs’ attacking play, claiming he “brings the best” out of Kane.
“Well there’s no doubt that he got his new contract because of his performances and his influence in the side,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He showed that again at the weekend, getting a fantastic assist.
“You can’t leave him off the teamsheet because he gives you so much energy, intelligence, and attacking presence.
“He is the driving force behind this Spurs side, even if Harry Kane gets the goals – he is the one who makes things happen.
“He’s got the quality to pick out a pass and link up with Kane. He’s the main man but Kane gets the plaudits because of his goals.
“They should build the team around him because he’s just as important as Kane.
“Son brings out the best in Kane, and those two players are the heartbeat of Tottenham.”
The forward joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 in a reported £22million deal.
He has netted 110 goals for the club.
